A truck driver in the UK is sentenced to more than 13 years in prison after cocaine is found hidden inside a shipment carrying Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS shapewear brand, according to multiple reports. The driver, identified as Jakub Jan Konkel (also spelled Jakub Konkel), is accused of smuggling cocaine concealed within specially adapted parts of his lorry. Authorities say the drug is hidden in compartments and the lining of the rear trailer doors while the vehicle transports a legitimate load of SKIMS clothing on pallets. Reports describe the cocaine as packaged into dozens of units, with the total weight given as about 90 kg (with some outlets citing 198 pounds). The value reported by outlets ranges from roughly £7 million to about $9.4 million, depending on the currency and conversion used. Konkel is reportedly stopped by UK border forces when the lorry arrives in eastern England from the Netherlands in September, following an investigation by the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA). On Monday, a UK court imposes a sentence of about 13 to 13.5 years, depending on the outlet’s reporting.
