Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model, is preparing for a potential initial public offering that could match or exceed SpaceX’s record fundraising size. Quartz reports that Anthropic has confidentially submitted a draft S-1 to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and could make a public filing as soon as late August.

Japan Times similarly says Anthropic expects the IPO could be on par with or larger than SpaceX’s record IPO, citing sources. Both outlets describe the timing as soon, with Japan Times stating the company is working to file publicly as early as the end of this month.

Across the two reports, the main points are consistent: Anthropic is in active IPO preparation, it has reached the SEC documentation stage via a draft S-1, and it is targeting a large offering size relative to recent high-profile deals, with a potential public filing window in late August.
