Thieves break into a parked car in Delhi’s Karol Bagh and allegedly steal jewellery valued at more than ₹2 crore, police say. The rear window is smashed and three backpacks and a suitcase are taken from inside the vehicle.

The victim, identified as Kanhaiya Lal, is a jewellery businessman associated with SKG Kundan Crafts. He arrives in Delhi on August 18 with his son, Dhruv Soni, and an employee for business marketing work, according to reports. On August 19, he visits jewellers in Greater Kailash before parking his car on Arya Samaj Road near Canara Bank around 5:30 pm. He and his companions reportedly leave the bags and suitcase inside the car, go to dinner at a nearby Bikanervala, and return around 7:15 pm to find the window broken and the items missing.

Police begin an investigation and review CCTV footage from the area, while also checking the victim’s and companions’ movements before and after the car is parked. While both outlets describe the same broad incident, they differ mainly in wording and emphasis, with one detailing the alleged contents more extensively and the other summarizing the reported losses and police response.
