Bengaluru airport’s user development fee (UDF) is reduced under a tariff revision by India’s aviation regulator, AERA. From September 2026, the UDF for domestic passengers is cut to ₹300, while the UDF for international passengers is set at ₹997. The change also includes adjustments to associated airport charges, including domestic landing charges.

According to the outlets, the revised structure shifts the timing of recovering major infrastructure costs. Instead of earlier recovery, the tariff is designed to defer cost recovery until relevant airport projects are completed, commissioned, and available for passenger use. Times of India adds that domestic flight landing charges are fixed at ₹442 per metric tonne under the new financial framework. The reporting aligns on the fee amounts and the regulatory intent of linking recovery to project readiness, though the outlets differ slightly in emphasis—one focusing on deferred cost recovery and the other on how the move can reduce costs for travelers.
