Walmart says it expects a headwind of more than 100 basis points to third-quarter (Q3) sales growth because Flipkart shifts the timing of its “Big Billion Days” sale event between Q3 and Q4 in fiscal year 2027 (FY27). The company says the same shift is likely to benefit Q4 sales growth by a similar magnitude, adjusting the sales “cadence” across quarters.

Walmart’s view is tied to how it laps prior-period results and how the event’s moved dates affect near-term comparisons. While Flipkart has not officially announced the FY27 “Big Billion Days” dates in the coverage, reporting cited expectations that the sale begins in late September 2026, with early access for Plus members the day before, and continues into early October.

In the same period, Walmart also highlights that India remains a key growth driver for its International segment. Walmart reports international growth in Q2 and points to momentum in markets including China and India, and it notes continued strength in its advertising business, including growth linked to Flipkart Ads.
