The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) says a viral notice claiming its Wellness Centres will remain closed from August 27 to 31, 2026 for NEET PG-related medical officer deployment is false and unauthorised. CGHS clarifies that Wellness Centres will continue to function according to their prescribed working schedules during the period.
The clarification follows the circulation of a notice using the CGHS name and logo. According to the notice, dispensary services would be unavailable from August 27 to August 31, citing Medical Officers being assigned to flying squad duty for the NEET PG exam scheduled on August 30. It also advised beneficiaries to collect medicines in advance and make emergency referral arrangements.
CGHS says it did not issue or authorise the notice and instructs its officials to ensure the message reaches Wellness Centres and beneficiaries. It also says that if staff are deployed for official duties, administrative arrangements will be made so healthcare services are not disrupted, and it asks that the unauthorised use of its branding be reported for appropriate action.
