Tubi is releasing an original anime series for the “Scooby-Doo” franchise titled “Yokoso Scooby-Doo!” The series is set in Japan and follows Scooby-Doo and Shaggy on what the outlets describe as a “foodie” adventure. According to reports, the characters’ trip leads to an incident in which they unintentionally unleash “hundreds” of something related to the plot, as they encounter events during their visit.
The show features returning voice talent from the broader franchise. Frank Welker, who voices Scooby-Doo in prior “Scoob!” and related works, is set to reprise the role for the series. Matthew Lillard, who voices Shaggy in the franchise, is also returning as Shaggy.
Variety and Deadline describe the program as the first original anime “Scooby-Doo!” series. Deadline also characterizes it as a Tubi Original. Gizmodo similarly reports that this is the first “Scooby-Doo” anime series and highlights that Lillard and Welker are voicing the main characters.
