A Greenpeace-commissioned survey finds strong opposition in Perth to Woodside’s Browse gas plans and related fracking concerns. The polling reports that 71% of metropolitan respondents disapprove of the Browse proposal, which includes potential further drilling and extraction activity.
The survey also links this disapproval to broader concerns about possible hydraulic fracturing (fracking) in the Kimberley region. All three outlets cite the same Greenpeace poll figures and describe the preference as favouring “domestic gas enforcement” rather than additional drilling or expansion of gas projects.
While the reports differ only in wording and outlet framing, they consistently present the same core results: a clear majority of metropolitan voters in Perth expresses opposition to Browse and to the prospect of fracking, and a majority appears to prefer stronger enforcement aimed at domestic gas arrangements.
