Online fast-fashion retailer Shein is planning a stock market debut in September, targeting a valuation of about $27 billion (around $27bn / £20bn), according to multiple reports. The companies’ planned figure is described as being substantially lower than its earlier peak valuation.

Several outlets note that Shein was valued at about $100 billion in a private fundraising round in 2022. While the targeted debut valuation represents a significant reduction from that level, it still implies a much larger public-market valuation than some earlier estimates for later-stage listings.

Coverage differs mainly in how they express the target—some cite the approximate dollar valuation while others convert it into pounds. BBC and Sky News describe the valuation as “almost” $27 billion and link it directly to the $100 billion private fundraising figure from 2022, while the Belfast Telegraph and The Independent focus on the £20 billion range for the September float.
