TVS Supply Chain Solutions (TVS SCS) signs a strategic memorandum of understanding with Japan-headquartered Sankyu Inc. to collaborate on supply chain and engineering services. The announcement lifts TVS SCS shares by as much as about 8% on Monday, reflecting market optimism around the proposed partnership.
Under the MoU, Sankyu intends to acquire a 0.5% equity stake in TVS SCS, subject to customary regulatory approvals. The companies say the initial focus is on India, where they plan to support manufacturing and industrial customers with a wider range of services, drawing on TVS SCS’s supply chain capabilities and customer relationships and Sankyu’s engineering, logistics, and industrial ecosystem connections. Areas outlined include logistics, warehousing, transportation, engineering services, maintenance, and on-site industrial support.
Sources agree on the planned stake and the India-first services focus, though they provide limited detail beyond that. Both describe the companies setting up governance arrangements, including a joint steering committee, to identify growth opportunities and oversee initiatives. They also indicate the collaboration could expand beyond India to other regions where both firms have a presence, including parts of Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
