The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State reaffirms Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan, popularly known as “Yayi,” as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election. In statements issued in Abuja on Monday, the party dismisses Abayomi Hunye’s claim to be the party’s candidate and says it does not recognize his candidacy.
APC also says Hunye remains suspended from the party and is therefore not an authorized candidate. Multiple outlets report that the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and other APC officials communicate that Yayi is the authentic flagbearer for Ogun.
