Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon’s Raksha Bandhan jewellery advertisement for Giva has drawn backlash on social media after critics said the styling feels inappropriate for the festival. In the ad, Kriti is shown tying a rakhi and then extending the tradition to her pet dog, as part of a “Furever Sibling” concept to promote the brand’s pet collection.

Several outlets report that the controversy centers on Kriti’s outfit. She wears an off-white bralette-style blouse with a cape and a draped skirt, which some users described as resembling a bikini or underwear and questioned why it is paired with a Raksha Bandhan theme. Some criticism also targets the idea of linking the festival to a pet, with people arguing it trivializes the occasion.

Kangana Ranaut also weighed in indirectly through an Instagram Story, asking why Kriti would tie a rakhi while dressed in what she described as bikini-like clothing, and calling the advert “intentionally creepy.” Actress Suzanne Bernert similarly criticized the campaign, saying it frames “wearing less clothes” as empowerment and that it may influence younger viewers. Kriti has not publicly responded to the criticism.
