Akshay Kumar begins filming for “Samuk,” an alien-themed survival-action thriller. Multiple reports say the project is directed by Kanishk Varma and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, with shooting starting as the film moves into production.
The film has been in development for about two years and is described as blending military realism with survival horror and alien mythology. The Hindu and Times of India both highlight the use of an international team to achieve the spectacle, including creature and stunt specialists. Times of India adds that Oscar-nominated Alec Gillis is designing the alien, and Luke Tumber is directing the action sequences.
