Apple’s next 20th-anniversary iPhone, rumored to be called “iPhone 20,” is said to feature a glass-heavy design with a more rounded look, paired with improvements in thermals and thinness. The claims are based on a Weibo post by the leaker known as “Fixed Focus Digital,” who says Apple is using manufacturing equipment originally developed for the iPhone Air.
According to the leaker, modifications to iPhone Air-related glass-making equipment allow production of more rounded glass components. The report says this reduces costs and improves heat dissipation and overall thinness. MacRumors also cites earlier leakage that a supply chain facility has completed renovations ahead of iPhone 20 production, with manufacturing quality expected to be similar to that of the first-generation iPhone Air.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman is referenced as aiming for a “mostly glass, curved iPhone” that wraps around the device without display cutouts. AppleInsider and MacRumors both describe the expected design as reminiscent of iPhone Air, with AppleInsider focusing on appearance and thermals.
The iPhone 20 models are widely expected to launch in the fall of 2027, after iPhone 18, iPhone 18e, and iPhone Air 2.
