Several reports link the repeated changes to the government’s efforts to manage revenue losses from higher global crude oil costs, noting that crude oil prices have climbed amid geopolitical developments, including the Iran conflict. The increases take effect through daily pricing by oil marketing companies, which adjust retail rates.
