Amazon updates its seller cancellation fee policy ahead of the festive season, revising charges for cancellations made under its Easy Ship and Self-Ship services. The fee is linked to the value of the order, according to reporting.
Times of India also reports that Flipkart revises its seller fee and penalty framework around the same period, with cancellation-related charges incorporated as a percentage of the total order value. It adds that Flipkart introduces a tiered penalization approach for order fulfillment errors.
Sellers interviewed by outlets say the changes increase costs, particularly for small and medium enterprises. They call for clearer allocation of responsibility and more predictable, “fairer” penalty structures, while the platforms frame the updates as part of tightening operational discipline for marketplace transactions during the high-volume festive period.
