Sources report that investigators identify an unauthorised email change associated with an account takeover, shifting the registered email from sudhirmishra.sudhir@gmail.com to valid9031@outlook.com. Police trace the account history, verify Mishra’s identity, and coordinate with X’s backend processes to reverse the changes and restore control. Mishra had previously complained that X support rejected his recovery request because it could not verify that the account belonged to him.
After regaining access, Mishra thanks the Mumbai Police and names members of the Oshiwara police cyber team involved in the recovery. The reporting does not indicate any charges, suspects, or broader impact beyond the restoration of the account.
