Horror director Jacob Chase is set to helm “Sleepover” for Blumhouse Atomic Monster and Universal Pictures. The project is described as a “sleepover nightmare” and marks Chase’s next studio horror collaboration following “Insidious: Out of the Further,” in which he directs.
According to the outlets, Chase is directing from a screenplay co-written with Bryce McGuire, who also wrote “Night Swim.” The script is adapted from an original short by McGuire. Universal has reserved the movie’s theatrical date, which is reported as Oct. 8, 2027, with Deadline also noting it as a fall 2027 release and referencing scheduling for an untitled Blumhouse Atomic Monster picture.
