A video and claim posted by a Pune resident are putting PAUL India’s Phoenix Mall outlet in Viman Nagar under scrutiny. The customer says he found a live worm inside a pastry he bought as a takeaway and later shared footage online showing the worm moving in the food item.

Reports identify the claimant as Vinod Tilekar, who says he ordered the pastry a few months earlier. Media outlets note the allegation is being discussed on social media and has renewed concerns about food hygiene and handling at the bakery chain.

One outlet links the Pune claim to a prior incident involving PAUL at One Horizon Centre in Gurugram, where a customer had alleged a worm was found in a sandwich and shared a video in late August. That Gurugram case prompted criticism online and led PAUL to state that it takes food safety, hygiene, and quality standards seriously, and that the reported incident does not reflect its standards. In the Pune case, outlets report that PAUL management has not issued an official response at the time of reporting.
