Bournvita maker Mondelez India and Amway India withdraw or revise certain product and promotional claims after the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) flags violations relating to health and nutrition language. The regulator’s action covers misleading advertising and labelling concerns, prompting companies to make corrective changes to comply with food-safety rules.

Across the reports, FSSAI’s scrutiny centers on claims that may create a potentially misleading impression about nutritional benefits or product purity. Mondelez India is reported to have withdrawn claims and an associated advertisement tied to Bournvita’s nutritional value. In a separate case, FSSAI flagged Amway India’s use of the phrase “100% Pure Coconut Oil,” citing non-compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act and related advertising/claims provisions.

Amway says it voluntarily removes the “100%” wording from packaging and promotional materials and stops sale of existing stock carrying the disputed claim. It also prepares revised packaging and plans further updates to product listings and websites as the changes roll out in stages in 2026.
