Warner Bros. Discovery acquires international distribution rights to “Diabolical: The Epstein Files,” an ABC documentary about Jeffrey Epstein, for HBO Max. The 90-minute film is set to roll out across the streamer’s international territories starting September 3, with its debut in the U.K., Italy, and the Netherlands.
The documentary is produced and distributed by Australia’s Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). It follows Epstein’s rise and describes the network associated with allegations of trafficking. Deadline and Variety both report the same start date and territories for the international launch, while Deadline additionally notes that Italy’s rollout is limited by language, beginning in non-Italian-speaking regions.
Together, the coverage frames the deal as an international distribution arrangement: ABC’s documentary will become available on HBO Max in multiple countries, beginning with the U.K., followed by additional European availability under the platform’s regional schedule.
