India’s infrastructure projects are running significantly over budget, according to a monitoring report by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). It covers 1,775 ongoing projects across 17 Central Ministries and Departments, which are reported to have a combined revised cost of ₹37,10,642 crore versus their original total cost of ₹33,70,138 crore.
