APC chieftain and Zamfara North senatorial aspirant Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi says he will proceed with his campaign even though a court case is pending over the party’s primary election. Speaking to journalists in Gusau on Monday, he says his campaign and mobilisation teams will be constituted according to the official campaign schedule, and that he expects the dispute will not stop him from pursuing his candidacy.

The outlets describe his position as defiant, with Shinkafi stating that he is not intimidated by the legal challenge and believes the case he has presented will be resolved in his favour. In addition, he makes remarks beyond the court matter, urging Zamfara’s state government to prioritize security and welfare, and to focus on human development rather than new projects. He also argues that improving security in Zamfara would benefit neighbouring states, and advises Governor Dauda Lawal to reallocate resources toward addressing insecurity and living conditions.
