Conservation efforts are leading to a rebound of the critically endangered Galápagos snapdragon (Galvezia leucantha subsp. leucantha). In 2007, only six plants were known to survive on remote lava fields. After about three decades of work, conservationists have moved the species from near extinction to a small wild population that is now showing natural signs of regeneration.
