Miss Universe Jamaica Gabrielle Henry returns publicly after stage fall in Thailand

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Miss Universe Jamaica 2025 Dr Gabrielle Henry has made her first public appearance after suffering a fall from the stage during the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand in November last year. According to a report by People, Henry attended the Integrity Children's Fund's Dinner en Rouge Gala in Atlanta, Georgia, on May 16. Integrity Children's Fund is an organisation founded in 2002 and headquartered in Georgia, to provide a direct response to the illiteracy rate among children. Henry reportedly delivered remarks at the event, seated in a chair on stage at the gala. “Despite the prolonged recovery I have been going through, I could not miss being present to support such a remarkable event,” Henry was quoted as saying by People. “Today we recognise and celebrate the amazing efforts of our fellow brothers — members of the Jamaican diaspora who have poured out their hearts and souls into something so meaningful,” she continued. Henry suffered head trauma and other injuries as a result of a fall from the stage during the evening gown preliminary competition of the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand. At a time when I wanted only to represent Jamaica at my fullest, I faced the most unexpected injury of my life. It shifted everything. Yet I have learned that a fall can uncover a depth of strength you did not know you possessed. My greatest strength has been in choosing to rise, even while I am still on the journey,” Henry said in an Instagram post in February. She also expressed gratitude to healthcare providers in Jamaica and Thailand who assisted her in her recovery journey. “This period has given me space to reflect. I know my story is still unfolding. What happened was not an ending; it marked the beginning of building a stronger legacy, creating impact and leaving a meaningful mark. I remain committed to making my country proud and to inspiring every person I encounter along the way,” she continued.  

Gabrielle Henry, who represented Jamaica in the 2025 Miss Universe pageant, attended a charity event six months after being hospitalized following a fall from pageant stage. Henry was present at the Integrity Children’s Fund’s Dinner en Rouge Gala held in Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States last Saturday, May 16.
