The terms, as described by Iranian officials and reported by multiple outlets, appear largely unchanged from an earlier offer that U.S. President Donald Trump rejected last week, characterizing it as unacceptable. Trump says he has paused a planned resumption of attacks on Iran after receiving the new proposal and says there is now a “very good chance” of reaching a deal aimed at limiting Iran’s nuclear program. Reuters reporting cited by one source says it could not verify whether preparations for renewed strikes had been made.
