Khan’s withdrawal is described differently across accounts. Some reports say he announces he is not contesting to focus on “peace and development” in Falta, while others cite his reference to a “special package” for the area. TMC leaders and spokespersons say the decision is Khan’s personal choice, while also alleging that BJP workers applied pressure and intimidation.
