Google is adding new travel-planning capabilities to its Search “AI Mode,” including flight price tracking and hotel booking features. Users can set flight price alerts during chats and can describe where and when they want to fly to see available options sourced from partner airlines and travel sites.

The update also supports building an itinerary within AI Mode, with ticket purchases handled through airline websites or other booking platforms. Additional functionality includes helping with hotel selection and showing travel costs in different reward terms, such as miles or points.

Outlets characterize the changes as a step toward using AI Mode more like an end-to-end travel agent rather than a tool limited to answering questions or surfacing results. Reporting across sites also highlights the shift toward integrating practical trip-planning and partial booking assistance directly into Google Search.
