Google introduces “Expert Intelligence,” a new feature across Google AI products designed to help users work with trusted, credible content. The rollout begins in Gemini Notebook (formerly NotebookLM), where users can add selected books from their Google Play Books library and use them inside notebooks.
Multiple outlets report that Expert Intelligence ties access to book ownership, including shared notebooks, so users generally need to own or purchase the relevant books to fully use the feature. The capability focuses on letting Gemini reference those books as sources and then transform that material into other outputs. Slashdot specifies uses such as generating quizzes, infographics, and audio summaries, along with examples where the AI can draw from a particular author’s cookbook.
