Seriake Dickson meets Peter Obi and Kwankwaso in Abuja, consults NDC Lagos stakeholders

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, and the party’s national leader, Seriake Dickson, on Friday met with the Lagos State governorship candidate, Funso Doherty, along with other party members from the state.Dickson disclosed the meeting in a statement posted on his verified X handle. He said the Lagos team briefed the leadership on the state of the party in the state, with particular focus on preparations for campaigns and the 2027 general elections.Dickson expressed appreciation for the unity, commitment and cooperation shown by the party’s candidates and stakeholders in Lagos. He and Obi encouraged them to sustain the momentum and emphasised the need for oneness, unity of purpose and collective support for all NDC candidates.According to Dickson, the Lagos State team will continue consultations, reconciliation and engagement with all interest groups and individuals within the party at every level. He noted that such engagements are essential for strengthening unity, addressing concerns and ensuring the party enters the campaigns as a united and formidable team.In his post, Dickson stated: “This evening, I met with our party’s gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State, Mr Funso Doherty, the Zonal Vice Chairman, South West, the Lagos State Chairman of our party, as well as other senior party officials, candidates and stakeholders from the state.“It was also my pleasure to receive our party’s presidential candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi, who later joined the meeting. We were therefore briefed together and participated in discussions on the state of our preparedness in Lagos State.“We must continue to work together as one family, putting the interests of the party and, ultimately, the Nigerian people above individual interests.”

The national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, on Thursday met with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in Abuja.In a post on his verified X handle, Dickson said the meeting formed part of ongoing consultations and deliberations on issues concerning the party and the nation.The former Bayelsa State governor noted that they had also met two days earlier and reconvened to further discuss and finalise decisions, especially as the party prepares for the unveiling of its Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections.Dickson was joined at the meeting by the National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, and other party leaders.He urged all stakeholders, aspirants and members of the NDC to unite, close ranks and work collectively for the success of the party’s candidates at every level.
