Aloy Ejimakor, special counsel to IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, urges President Bola Tinubu to reverse what he describes as former President Muhammadu Buhari’s discriminatory legacy in Nigeria’s South-East. Ejimakor says Buhari’s administration carried out unequal or discriminatory law enforcement in the region and links the claim to the continued proscription of IPOB and its reported security arm, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).
Ejimakor makes the appeal after Sunday Igboho launches the Eru Ekun Security Network in the South-West. Nigerian Eye reports that Igboho unveiled the group with more than 15,000 members. Ejimakor argues that the development highlights what he calls an “injustice” in how IPOB/ESN are treated compared with groups operating in other regions.
