A five-year-old boy is reported to have begged a man posing as a British Gas worker not to hurt his mother and father during a robbery at a home in Birkenhead. The suspect, 29-year-old Haneef Chowdhury, allegedly entered the flat under the guise of carrying out checks before returning with accomplices.
According to the accounts, Chowdhury initially carried out reconnaissance and then rejoined two other people to break into the property. During the robbery, the boy is described as pleading for his parents’ safety while the threats were directed at the household, including claims that the child’s throat was threatened.
