Disney+ has greenlit a new Pokémon stop-motion series, “Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu,” produced by Aardman Animation. The announcement is tied to a newly announced global distribution deal with The Pokémon Company International. The series is slated to debut on Disney XD and stream on Disney+ exclusively.
Sources also say the deal includes additional Pokémon animated content, described as an original 1990s program in at least one report. Nintendo Life notes that a teaser trailer accompanies the announcement and that the full series is scheduled for worldwide streaming in 2027 under the Disney+ exclusivity terms. Deadline and Forbes both frame the project as part of the broader global agreement, with Aardman’s involvement and the 2027 Disney+ release dates appearing consistently across outlets.
