The National Medical Commission (NMC) reopens the online application window for the Eligibility Certificate (EC) required to apply for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) 2026. The Ethics & Medical Registration Board (EMRB) issues a public notice dated August 28 stating that candidates who do not yet have the EC can apply through the NMC portal.
According to the notices, the EC application window opens on September 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM and remains open until September 30, 2026 at 6:00 PM. The EC is necessary for candidates to proceed with FMGE applications, and candidates who have already applied previously for EC issuance are told they do not need to apply again. NDTV and the Free Press Journal both report the reopening dates and that applications are handled online via the NMC.
Both outlets also cite NMC advisories for candidates to submit accurate information, maintain an active mobile number for deficiency communications, and address any issues promptly. The Free Press Journal adds that the NMC’s decision follows changes to the FMGE schedule announced by NBEMS, including additional testing later in 2026, and notes the NMC’s guidance on how to track application status and contact the commission if needed.
