Bad Wolves are no longer part of Skillet’s upcoming tour. Multiple reports say the Los Angeles metal band is dropped from the dates with Skillet, and the guitarist AJ Rebollo has left the group, citing disagreements over a label’s decision related to a Dolly Parton cover.

The band’s “Jolene” cover is scheduled for release on August 31, a plan described as going forward despite Bad Wolves’ objections. Consequence reports that Rebollo frames the release as conflicting with the band’s wishes. Stereogum adds additional context, saying the band had also recently undergone changes to its lineup, following D.L. Laskiewicz’s exit last year and Sara “Killboy” Skinner’s introduction as vocalist earlier this year.

Stereogum reports that the tour removal is attributed to alleged harassment of Skinner by Skillet fans. Across outlets, the dispute connects the band’s internal personnel fallout and the timeline for the “Jolene” cover to the band’s tour status with Skillet, though outlets emphasize different causes.
