Police in Jigawa State arrest 17 suspects in separate operations across multiple local government areas and recover items linked to alleged crimes, including five motorcycles. The Jigawa State Police Command says the arrests follow credible intelligence and swift responses, with investigations ongoing.
The operations take place in areas including Malam Madori, Gwaram, Garki, Kiyawa, Taura, Birniwa, Dutse, Ringim, Miga, Kazaure and Roni. Police recover livestock (five cows, two goats and one sheep), electronics (nine Android smartphones and one keypad phone), communications items (44 batteries and four SIM cards), and other property such as a Lenovo laptop, a plasma television, a solar battery, a ceiling fan, cutting tools and parts of vandalised school desks. Three suspects are also linked to an armed robbery involving a Boxer motorcycle valued at N1.2 million, though that motorcycle is not yet recovered.
Police investigations continue to identify the owners of recovered items so they can be returned on bond, and efforts also continue to recover the stolen motorcycle.
