Jigawa State begins computer-based testing for the recruitment of 500 teachers under its J-Tsangaya programme, with candidates taking the exams in locations including Dutse, Hadejia and Gumel. The Jigawa State Tsangaya Education Board’s Executive Secretary, Abubakar Maje, says candidates are participating in the exercise as part of the selection process.
Outlets report different figures for how many people sit the CBT. Daily Post Nigeria cites 2,370 candidates competing for the 500 positions, while The Punch reports that more than 9,000 graduates and NCE holders are taking the test. Both accounts attribute the numbers to the same recruitment effort and also frame the competition as open to graduates seeking limited teaching jobs, with the board monitoring the exercise during inspections. The reports do not indicate an outcome yet, only that the CBT is ongoing as part of the recruitment screening.
