Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Tuesday killed at least 19 people, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry and other officials. Several civilians are reported among the dead, including women and children. One strike reportedly hits a house in the Deir Qanoun al Nahr area, in Tyre province, killing 10 people, including three children and three women. The ministry also reports another airstrike on the southern city of Nabatieh that kills four people and wounds 10 others, including two women. Other outlets describe the overall casualty figure as including four women and three children among the 19 killed.
The attacks occur amid an ongoing Israel–Hezbollah conflict and follow a fragile, U.S.-brokered ceasefire that has not fully halted hostilities. Israel’s military says it targeted more than 25 sites of Hezbollah infrastructure in southern Lebanon between Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon, while Israeli authorities did not immediately comment publicly on the specific incidents and casualty counts reported by Lebanon’s health officials.
