National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF) raises about $2 billion for its second infrastructure fund, marking the first close of Fund II, according to reports from Economic Times and Mint.

Mint says NIIF has raised ₹19,000 crore for the first close of Fund II and is targeting a total of $3.2 billion. The reporting also describes the fund’s planned expansion beyond traditional “core” infrastructure. It includes allocations aimed at areas such as electric vehicles (EVs) and urban infrastructure. Mint further states that $950 million is earmarked for co-investments.

Economic Times likewise frames the development as NIIF raising $2 billion for Infra Fund 2, without the same level of detail on sector allocations or the fund’s target size. Together, the coverage indicates NIIF is progressing with the launch of Fund II and outlining a broader investment focus while seeking a larger overall fundraising figure.
