Naomi Watts is set to receive the San Sebastián Film Festival’s Donostia Award at the event’s 74th edition in September. The festival announces that Watts, a two-time Oscar nominee, will be honored for her contributions to the film industry and will attend the ceremony on Saturday, Sept. 19.

The festival will also follow the award with a screening of Watts’ new film, “The Housewife,” which is described in reports as Ben Shirinian’s directorial debut. Deadline and Variety both frame the Donostia Award as being presented annually to recognize outstanding work in film.

Both outlets note that the Donostia Award program this year already includes other major film figures. Variety adds that German director Werner Herzog’s Donostia Award was announced in early August, placing Watts’ honor within a broader set of festival recognitions announced ahead of the September dates.
