A Chinese court has frozen about 2.14 billion yuan (around $318 million) in assets linked to Nexperia, according to Wingtech Technology Co., the company’s Chinese owner. The move comes as part of an ongoing dispute over control of Nexperia BV.
Bloomberg and other reporting describe the action as a further step in a prolonged fight between Wingtech and Nexperia after Wingtech was left without control of the Dutch chipmaker last year. Times of India adds that the freeze is requested by Wingtech and covers stakes in four China-based units, with the order reportedly lasting until 2029. Wingtech is also seeking damages in a separate claim.
Nexperia’s China operations are reported to be adapting their business in response to the dispute. Times of India says Nexperia’s China arm shifts its product line to domestic 12-inch wafers. The outlets characterize different aspects of the case—asset coverage and timelines versus corporate and operational responses—while agreeing the asset freeze is tied to Wingtech’s legal request.
