Firefighters rescue 27 people after a rollercoaster stops at Pleasurewood Hills theme park in Lowestoft, Suffolk. The riders are reported to have been stuck for up to three hours while suspended on the ride, after it breaks down.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service crews use equipment to bring the carriages down safely. The Evening Standard reports the rollercoaster stops about 50 feet in the air, while other coverage focuses on the duration of the delay and the number of people involved.
The theme park apologises and says guest safety is its highest priority. It also says visitors affected will be offered a “complimentary revisit,” according to the reports.
