Indian Railways approves a ₹272 crore, 11 km Adra–Joychandipahar bypass line aimed at reducing freight bottlenecks, according to reports. The project is designed to improve rail throughput on the route by rerouting some movements and easing congestion.
Both outlets frame the approval as a capacity-boost measure focused on freight. The bypass is expected to support iron-ore related hauling linked to SAIL’s projected 23.40 million tonnes per year demand. It is also described as helping meet BCCL’s operating projection of 45 rakes per day.
