Samsung has detailed the development of “My FanCam,” an AI-powered video-editing feature introduced with the Galaxy Z Fold8 series at Galaxy Unpacked in July 2026. The feature lets users, with a single tap, create a video cut that automatically follows a selected person’s movements while they perform, producing a “tracked” view suitable for sharing fan videos.

According to the development team, the goal is to reduce the manual work previously required to edit fan footage into a focused sequence. While object tracking exists in other contexts, My FanCam is presented as tailored to performance-stage footage, including the workflow and user experience around selecting a subject and generating the resulting clip.

Across the coverage, Samsung emphasizes its research and Mobile Experience (MX) team’s role in building the underlying system and the inspiration drawn from the popularity of K-pop fan editing. The outlets differ mainly in emphasis—one focuses more on Samsung’s account of how it was built and the AI tracking approach, while the other highlights the feature’s intended use case and the team’s explanation of what it does for fans.
