Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan sanctions ₹100 crore for infrastructure works connected to upcoming Godavari Pushkarams. The funding is aimed at preparing villages and pilgrimage sites along the Godavari basin, including works that improve access to ghats and provisions for drinking water for visitors.
According to reports, ₹90 crore comes from Panchayat Raj funds to carry out 111 works, including roads linking villages to the ghats. An additional ₹10 crore is provided by the Rural Water Supply (RWS) Department for drinking water at every ghat. Both outlets also describe this allocation as building on earlier funding already made for related projects.
Times of India and The Hindu both note that another ₹100 crore has been allocated previously through the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) for district-level or additional projects. The outlets broadly align on the purpose—connectivity and pilgrim-friendly facilities—and on the split between Panchayat Raj and RWS components within the latest ₹100 crore.
