OPay is expanding its 10-year scholarship programme worth ₦1.2 billion by adding Miva Open University as a partner institution. The agreement is marked by a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which increases the number of participating tertiary institutions to 25.

Both outlets report that the programme is designed to grow further over time. The scholarship initiative aims to expand to more universities by the end of 2026, with one report stating a target of more than 40 partner institutions, and another citing a specific goal of 41. While the sources highlight the same expansion step and overall scale, they differ slightly in how they describe the expected number of institutions—one uses a broad “40+” framing, while the other provides the figure “41.” Both accounts also emphasize the long-term duration of the programme and its total funding envelope.
