Capcom releases a gameplay overview trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, highlighting a new hunting action called the Boost Bracer. The mechanic focuses on building “Boost” energy by remaining aggressive with attacks, then triggering Boost using a special “Boost Driver” attack or other weapon-specific actions. Once activated, Boost unlocks new combos and enhanced attacks that expand each weapon type’s abilities.
The footage is presented as in-development gameplay. Both outlets describe the expansion as adding Master Rank content, including new monsters and challenges, updated hunting actions and mechanics, and a new location, continuing the Expedition Team’s story. GameSpot notes that Monster Hunter Wilds (the main game) is required to play Ascendance, and places its release in 2027 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. PCGamesN begins its coverage with a Great Sword demonstration, while also framing the mechanic as potentially transformative for combat.
