India’s food regulator FSSAI orders CG Foods India to stop production of its Veg Bhujia Namkeen after an inspection at the company’s unit in Rajasthan. The regulator says it found hygiene lapses and that some bhujia products were being manufactured without required authorization.
According to FSSAI’s findings reported by outlets, the company allegedly re-processes floor-collected or broken noodles to make bhujia without proper heat treatment. The inspection also reportedly turns up predated (possibly old/expired) packaging, along with expired finished goods. FSSAI seizes more than 32,000 kg of stock during the action.
