The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) says inspectors focused on two Wai Wai-branded bhujia items and found “re-processing floor-collected broken noodles into bhujia without heat treatment.” The crackdown is described by multiple outlets as part of an unusually wide food-safety drive in India, with federal and state officials taking action against both large and small food businesses, as well as major international brands, for issues involving hygiene, safety or labeling.
