A 30-year-old school bus driver in Navi Mumbai is arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl on the bus. Police say the incident happens after the child is the last student left on the vehicle during a home drop-off in the Kamothe area.

The girl later tells her grandmother about the abuse and complains of abdominal pain. The family informs the school and police, and authorities confirm the allegations after a medical examination. A case is registered under provisions related to rape of a child under 12 under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

After arrest, the driver is produced before a court in Panvel, which remands him to police custody for further investigation. Reports describe similar timelines and charges, though one outlet also cites the child being left alone as the immediate lead-up to the alleged assault.
